0515L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-5/7/2020

1- We are in a MARGINAL RISK AREA for severe weather later today. We may see some showers around this morning but none are expected to be severe IF they occur. That said, the highest threat will be later today in Southwestern Oklahoma so if you plan on traveling that way, stay extremely weather aware.

2- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly cloudy then becoming partly cloudy in the late morning and early afternoon then becoming mostly cloudy. A slight chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.

Tonight-Mostly cloudy. Thunderstorms likely in the evening, then a chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the upper 40s. East winds 10 to 15 mph shifting to the north 10 to 20 mph after midnight. Chance of thunderstorms 70 percent.

Sorry this is late but was called out to a structure fire around 3 this morning. Thus the hazards of being a rural fighter and emergency manager.

HAVE A GREAT DAY and I’ll post updated info through the day as needed.
