0300L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-11/16/23

*Windy conditions will occur this afternoon as a cool front moves our way. It appears that the front won’t push into the area until early Friday morning. This front will bring us back down to seasonal temps. Winds will increase around mid-morning and we could see gusts upwards of 30 mph or so. The front, as stated, will move in early Friday morning switching winds to northerly with some gusts upwards of 25 mph or so.

*Temps will gradually drop over the weekend and then yet another front will push in on Monday with very strong winds and colder air. Rain is possible on Sunday and Monday so we’ll see how all of this comes together.

*For THANKSGIVING: Cold and windy conditions are possible as another storm system moves through the area. Timing on that system is tricky so as guidance verifies over the next 3-4 days, we’ll see how the Thanksgiving picture develops. Keep a coat handy though.

*Until then, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast for today from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny this morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the mid-40s. South winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
