0255L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/03/24

* It’s going to get hot, then cool, then hot again even with a few fronts pushing through the area. The roller coaster in temps has started. Today and Saturday appear that we’ll see temps in at least the mid to upper 90s and then after a frontal passage or two early Friday and again Sunday morning, highs will drop into the mid to upper 80s. With all this confusion, we do lack moisture so chances of rain are virtually zero.

* Today and Saturday we’ll see an elevated fire danger so just keep your eyes peeled for smoke and fire and call 911 if you observe any. Remember, we are under severe/extreme drought conditions.

Overall, we’ll be ok. Here’s your forecast for the next 3 days from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the mid-90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows around 60. South winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph, becoming west after midnight.

Friday- Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night- Clear. Lows in the lower 60s. Northeast winds around 5 mph, becoming south after midnight.

Saturday- Sunny. Highs in the mid-90s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Saturday Night- Clear. Lows in the lower 60s.
