0335L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/25/21

1- “HEAT ADVISORY” in effect from noon today until 8pm this evening. All I will say here is stay hydrated and check on your outdoor pets. Keep an eye on the kids too.

2- The Fire Danger is increasing. Controlled burning is NOT ADVISED. If you just have to burn, do it this morning and make sure it’s out by this afternoon. We have had several fires around the county in the last couple of days and response has been really good. Just be careful and USE EXTREME CAUTION while utilizing anything related to fire.

3- WEATHER-WISE- The HEAT INDEX will be over 106 today as regular temps will be around 102. Again, be extremely careful while working outdoors and pace yourselves. We’ll be in this pattern the rest of the week and rain chances may return, per guidance, on Sunday. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny and hot, with a high near 102. Heat index values as high as 106. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear with lows in the mid-70s. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY AND STAY COOL

MIKE
