0310L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-2/15/22

1-RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY UNTIL 7PM THIS EVENING. Strong southerly winds 20-30 mph gusting upwards of 40 mph are expected. Humidity will be in the mid-20s with high temps in the 70s. WE ASK THAT THERE BE “NO CONTROLLED BURNING” TODAY IS REQUESTED AS ANY FIRE THAT STARTS will be difficult to contain. A WIND ADVISORY IS ALSO IN EFFECT FROM NOON UNTIL 6PM for strong winds and gusts upwards of 45 mph.

2- We will face a MULTI-HAZARD STORM SYSTEM STARTING TODAY with winds & fire danger, Wednesday with a Slight risk for severe thunderstorms along with strong winds, & late Wednesday into Thursday, the possibility of a snow event that could bring us 3 to 4 inches of snow! Nothing like having spring and back to winter in 3 days. The hazards are real BUT no need for any panic as we have faced all of this before. There will be a lot of dirt and other things in the air so if you have allergies, my advice is staying inside as much as possible.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok so please be careful out there and we’ll deal with what Mother Nature throws at us. Here is your forecast from the NWS.NORMAN;

Today-Partly cloudy. Windy. Highs around 70. South winds 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts.

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Windy, warmer. Lows in the lower 50s. South winds 25 to 30 mph with gusts to around 45 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY AND WE’LL ADVISE AS NEEDED.
