0345L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 7/16/24

*HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT AGAIN TODAY FROM NOON UNTIL 8PM THIS EVENING. HEAT INDEX VALUES TO 105 ARE EXPECTED.

*One more day of heat and then a cold front will push into the area tonight into early Wednesday. Temps will be a bit more sensible as we go through the rest of the week with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. There will be a threat for a few showers/thunderstorms early this morning but mainly later tonight along the cold front. If rain occurs this morning, it will just add to the misery with higher humidity. We’ll see what happens.

Overall, we’ll be ok, still just a bit toasty, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly this morning. Hot with highs around 102. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight- Showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 70 percent.
