0310L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 6/18/24
*General Thunderstorm Risk today. Strong southerly winds will gust upwards of 35 mph as a storm system traverses the region north of us. By late afternoon, there “might” be some severe weather ongoing in southwestern Kansas that could drift this way. If this occurs and storms do reach us, winds will be our threats.
*NO CONTROLLED BURNING is ask of you all today and most likely all week due to the winds. We are very dry and all it takes is a spark and fire tells the rest of the story. Catching a fire in these type of winds will be very difficult so us EXTREME CAUTION while utilizing ANYTHING related to fire.
*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Mostly sunny and windy. Highs in the lower 90s. South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Breezy with lows in the lower 70s. South winds 15 to 25 mph. Gusts up to 40 mph in the evening.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
