0315L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 6/19/24
*General Thunderstorm Risk again mainly this morning. Winds have become northerly as a trough is moving through the area as I type. We aren’t expecting any severe weather but we “could” see heavy rainfall as this system moves across the area. We’ll watch and see what happens. A little rainfall right now would be a good thing.
*AS STATED YESTERDAY: NO CONTROLLED BURNING is ask of you all today and most likely all week due to the winds. We are very dry and all it takes is a spark and fire tells the rest of the story. Catching a fire in these type of winds will be very difficult so use EXTREME CAUTION while utilizing ANYTHING related to fire.
*Overall, we’ll be ok so enjoy the cooler temps this morning as we will warm up over the next several days and we’ll most likely see upper 90s into the low 100’s by early next week. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly this morning then mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
Tonight- Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
