0310L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 3/11/25

* Another nice sunny day with periods of smoke coming through the area along with the winds. There were several controlled burns yesterday and we saw a boundary of smoke that moved in from the south. It was gone in about 20-30 minutes. Just stay aware of conditions and if you see smoke or fire, call 911.

To those that burn, make sure these fires are “completely out” as the winds will slowly increase this week. Embers will fly with wind gusts and start additional fires. Friday, we expect some gusts upwards of 50+ mph with very dry conditions. Remember that we are in a severe drought right now. See graphics below.

Overall for now, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s. South winds 10 to 15 mph, diminishing to around 5 mph after midnight.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
