0400L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/22/22

1- WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT until 7 pm Tuesday evening. Northwest winds 25-35 mph with higher gusts of 45-50 mph are expected. These wind gusts could cause damages to trees, homes, and may affect your driving in crosswinds. There is a HIGH WIND WARNING in effect for the northwestern 2 tiers of counties so if you plan on traveling, use extreme caution. See attached graphics.

2- We have received 1.25 inches of rainfall and there may be higher totals. Please let me know yours. Hopefully you emptied your gauges from last weeks rainfall. The front will be pushing through within the next hour or so and the winds will increase so secure anything that could take flight.

3- Overall, we’ll be cloudy and some light rain today along with the winds. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Cloudy. A chance of showers, mainly this morning. Very windy with highs in the mid-40s. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph, increasing to 30 to 35 mph with higher gusts, this afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Tonight-Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Windy with lows in the mid-30s. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, diminishing to 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph after midnight.
