0355L-TUESDAY UPDATE FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/5/19

1- No advisories happening today and our recovery back into warmer temperatures will continue to slowly progress this week. The 60’s temps I mentioned over the weekend have been pushed into the Saturday timeframe along with a chance for thunderstorms. Right now, there is nothing severe on the horizon.

2- After the tornado tragedy in Alabama a few days ago, you should really start thinking about what your plan is going to be when we start seeing our risks going up. People tend to not worry about it until the day of the storm. It’s way too late by then and making decisions in an emotional state is NOT a good idea.  If anyone in the area would like to host a weather awareness class, let me know and I would be glad to come and talk to your group. The more you know, the easier it is to cope with severe weather. If you like to watch the panic on TV, let me help you through that anxiety with knowledge that just might save your life instead of scaring you. Email me if you’re interested- mike@gcem.org

3- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Tuesday- Sunny with highs near 30. West winds 5 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night-Mostly clear with a low around 17. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph after midnight.

HAVE A SUPER DAY and STAY SAFE!

MIKE
