0420L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/19/20

1- We aren’t in any categorical outlooks for today so we’ll see mostly sunny skies and temps should be mild. Humidity will be lower so it will be cooler. This should occur for a few days before chances for rain increase. Overall, we’ll be ok so enjoy the cooler weather.

2- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-80s. East winds around 10 mph.

Tonight-Clear. Lows in the lower 60s. East winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable.

DIRECTORS COMMENT

SEVERE WEATHER. What are the parameters:  Severe storms can be due to WINDS in excess of 58 mph, HAIL-1 inch or larger, and of course-TORNADOES.  Any of these can have damaging effects on all of us at any given time.

When outlooks are sent out, folks should stop and read them so they have an idea of what might occur later in the day or when forecasters think an event may occur. If you watch television weather on any station in OKC, you may need to take blood pressure medicine as your level of stress will definitely increase.

Here in Garfield County, download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app, learn how it works, take the time to look through it, and know where to find information. It’s loaded with very good info. Like I always state; if you don’t have our app, you’re NOT PREPARED. Make sure you listen to our LOCAL radio stations too.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
