0310L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 8/21/24
*No advisories as of yet for the area. We will enjoy another day of temps around 90 with a slight chance for a shower during the morning hours. Moisture return, advection, is occurring around 4700 feet so this could initiate some thunderstorms this morning. We’ll see what develops. Other than that, not too much happening.
*We will be warming back up by Friday so the heat will be back on once again. Temps will be around 100 and the heat index will exceed 100 too. Advisories will most likely be back by then. Use caution while working outdoors and again, make sure outdoor animals are taken care of.
*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning. Highs around 90. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 60s. Southeast winds 10-15 mph gusting to 25 mph.
