0405L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/31/22

1- Not much going on weather-wise except that we’ll be in the mid-80’s to mid-90’s through Labor Day for highs and around the mid-60’s for overnight low temps. Winds should be light 5- 10 mph on any given day give or take. Overall, not too bad for the end of August.

2- Rain chances should occur mostly in the southern part of the state. That said, the boundary/front is in our area acting as a dividing line for humidity. No cooler air is expected. This said, per guidance, there could be a storm or two around the region if diurnal heating can overcome the cap. We’ll see what happens in that case and where if it occurs. Rainfall, if that occurs, would be heavy since winds aloft aren’t really strong.

3- The fire danger is low right now but since we are dry, use EXTREME CAUTION if utilizing anything related to fire. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-90s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid-60s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
