FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Since this is Wednesday, we will be testing 3 of our warning notification systems today. We test each Wednesday between 1130 and 1300 local time. If you have our app, send me a damage report letting me know you received it. Add a picture if you would like. It’s good practice in the event something actually occurs. If you don’t have our app, it’s GARFIELD COUNTY EM at your app stores. If you don’t have the app, email me at mike@gcem.org and let me know. On Monday, January 2nd, weather permitting and it will depend on temps and cloud cover; we will test our storm siren network at noon. Just a heads up on that one. We’ll let you know for sure as we get a little closer.

Weatherwise, we’ll be up and down a little this week as a few weak fronts push through. Winds will shift and temps will fluctuate some so just keep this in mind. There is a chance we might see another bout of Canadian and/or Arctic weather next week. Don’t forget where you put your coat as you just might need it. This said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Wednesday-Sunny, with a high near 59. South southwest wind 6 to 13 mph becoming north in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night-Mostly clear, with a low around 28. North northwest wind 8 to 11 mph.

STAY SAFE, WARM, AND BE CAREFUL OUT THERE.
MIKE
