0315L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 1/1/25

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! STAY ALERT- BE PREPARED- STAY SAFE

*Looks like we will have a cool day with light winds. After the last 2 days, light winds are welcome along with some sun. We’ll have another front come through late Thursday with a similar airmass keeping us about where we are right now. No precip is expected.

The above stated, This weekend may be another story. Depending where the storm track ends up will be dependent on what type of weather we’ll experience. We will get a lot colder either way. Due to inconsistencies in the models, precip is expected but whether its frozen or liquid precip will be one of the two main questions. Storm track, and timing will be the other main question until we get closer to the event. We will be talking arctic air.

Get prepared for bitter cold temps especially overnight as we could see lows in the 10-15 degree range by Monday morning. Don’t be too upset as this is wintertime.

Overall, we’ll be ok today. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the mid-40s. Northwest winds around 5 mph, becoming south around 5 mph this afternoon.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly clear. Cold with lows in the upper 20s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
