0415L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-01/11/23

1- GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification and preparedness app. We’re prepared, ARE YOU?

2- Today’s situation sets up with a RED FLAG WARNING out west. Yesterday was really nice but we’ll start to see some windier conditions as a shortwave trough with a strong mid-level jet moves our way from the southwest. We’ll also see a fairly strong cold front from the north later this evening depending on timing. Not expecting any rainfall with this mess.

3-We are starting to have grass fires around the area once again. Keep your eyes peeled for any suspicious activity and call 911 if you see smoke or fire. Remember that we are still in an EXTREME DROUGHT.

4- Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

 Today-Partly sunny this morning, then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower 60s. Northwest winds around 5 mph, becoming south 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph this afternoon.

Tonight-Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Breezy, cold with lows in the lower 30s. West winds 15 to 20 mph, becoming northwest 20 to 25 mph after midnight. Gusts up to 40 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
