0300L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/19/23

*HEAT ADVISORY remains in effect until 8pm tonight. Heat Index values to 110 are possible this afternoon. EXTREME CAUTION is advised if working or being outdoors for any extended lengths of time. A weak frontal boundary will push into the area this afternoon providing NO relief as it moves through the area. There will be a very slight chance for thunderstorms as it moves through. Any threat from storms, IF they form, would be strong gusty winds per guidance.

*Overall, we deal with the heat every summer and this one is no different other than we aren’t under the influence of a very strong drought. We are still under the influence of severe/moderate drought conditions. The FIRE DANGER is still slowly climbing so use caution if using anything related to fire out there. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Wednesday- Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 101. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Heat index values up to 107 in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night- Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid-70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming east after midnight. Heat index values up to 106 early in the evening.
