0305L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/28/21

1- Continued hot, humid, dry, & miserable. No rain in the forecast until roughly later on Sunday per guidance. That said, moisture is still streaming in so humidity will remain high. The heat index will be in the low 100s today so as I have been stating, pace yourselves if you work outside and make sure you, your family and pets stay hydrated. You can see the stress even on animals so be extremely careful out there.

2-That said, several fires yesterday and the green grass is dry enough to burn so be EXTREMELY CAREFUL with anything related to fire. Several controlled burns will occur today but if you see anything suspicious, call 911.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok. Just be careful outdoors. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Wednesday-Sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 103. South southeast wind 5 to 11 mph.

Wednesday Night-Mostly clear, with a low around 73. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light south after midnight.

STAY COOL & HAVE A GOOD DAY!
