0345L-WEDNESDAY UPDATE FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/7/18

1-Good morning, the winds yesterday and Monday were a touch HIGH and we expect our normal 5-15 mph winds today. Now don’t let your guard down because winds will be lighter just stay extremely cautious if doing anything fire related. We are still in a severe drought situation with technically no rain in sight. Just be careful.

2-There are a few piles of debris around the area that may be smoldering but they should be ok. Fire crews in those areas are aware of these and will continue to monitor. It’s virtually impossible to put those completely out but they will eventually be taken care of. Continue to be vigilant and report any smoke or fire to 911.

3-We aren’t the only county having fire issues. If you are traveling and see smoke or fire, call 911 in that area and give them your location, as best you can, so they can do what we do, put it out!

4- Finally before the forecast, I wanted to mention once more, THANKS TO ALL FIREFIGHTERS, VOLUNTEER AND PAID for your efforts. Thanks to 911 dispatch too for not going completely out of your minds during all of this. Finally to all of our law enforcement for keeping those roads clear while dealing with all the fires.

5- Here is your forecast from the NWS /NORMAN;

Wednesday-Sunny, with highs near 54. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Wednesday Night-Clear, with lows around 27. North northwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!

MIKE
