0255L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/11/23

*Today and Thursday will be windy and warm with highs in the mid 80’s and wind gusts around 35 mph. This will include the overnight hours tonight with some gusts upwards of 35 mph. We are expecting a cold front late Thursday night or very early Friday morning from roughly 11pm through 0200L. Not sure on exact timing but after frontal passage, winds will become northerly gusting 25 to 30 mph and by afternoon on Friday winds could gust upwards of 40 mph. It will remain windy for the foreseeable future.

*Rain is possible Thursday night as the front pushes through but those chances are around 20%. We’ll see what happens. Controlled burning is NOT ADVISED for the next week or so due to the winds. If you see smoke or fire, call 9-1-1 so a quick response can be dispatched.
