0405L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/7/2020

1- The next several days will be above what is called normal for this time of year as temps are on the rise. Moisture will be slowly rising as we work towards the weekend too. There is a possibility that areas of fog may occur in and around Central Oklahoma so if you are traveling, keep that in mind.

2- I have been asked about whether Hurricane Delta will affect us this weekend. Per guidance from the NHC, the storm track will take it over southern Louisiana but it will also affect Mississippi and Alabama. I would recommend NOT to travel in that direction at all. Affects of this storm may be felt in southeast Oklahoma depending on the exact track. Here is the link to the National Hurricane Center-   https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

3- Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. YOU are NOT PREPARED without it! You can also get valuable information from our website at https://www.gcem.org

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs around 90. Light and variable winds becoming south around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight- Clear. Lows in the upper 50s. Southeast winds around 10 mph.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
