Here is the 2018 Official Seminar Email

Good morning,

The 7 events below are NOT actually occurring at this time. BUT WHAT IF?

1- we are in a HIGH RISK for severe weather later today. There is a 90% chance that tornadoes and at least tennis ball size hail will occur.

2- a train has derailed in the northwest area of Enid between Willow and Purdue. Hazardous materials are leaking. Winds are from the NW at 15 mph.

3- a truck carrying gasoline has crashed into a building and exploded.

4-the NWS has issued an ICE STORM WARNING for Garfield County.

5- communications have been compromised and there is no internet or phone service.

6- football games are being played and the power goes out. It doesn’t come back on.

7- a 5.6 magnitude earthquake strikes the area

What if any one of these events actually occurs? Do you know what to do? Are you insured? Do you have a plan and if so, have you practiced it? Do you have a means to communicate? How long can you get by at home if told to shelter in place.

Most of these things will be covered plus much more at our 2nd Annual Disaster Resilience Seminar on October 30, 2018. The seminar will take place at Convention Hall in the Ballroom from 9 am until 4 pm. Lunch will be provided.

This seminar is designed with our citizens and the workplace in mind.
