0320L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-11/17/22

1- Southerly winds will bring warm temps with highs around 50. Another cold front will move in later this afternoon bringing with it a chance for snow flurries during the “overnight” hours into the Friday morning timeframe. Flurries will again be possible Friday evening.

2- Cold and dry polar air will be associated with the front later today and HIGH temps on Friday will struggle to reach 32 degrees. Hang on to those coats.

3- I have been asked by many folks about the weather on Thanksgiving. Per guidance, another system appears to affect the area around that timeframe but it looks like warmer temps will cause any precip to be liquid in nature. Don’t hold me to this as I take this info from NWS discussions around the region. We’ll see what happens. Just be prepared either way.

4- Overall, we’ll be ok so keep a jacket in the car and enjoy the day. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Thursday-Sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy. Cold with lows in the mid-20s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
