FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Another cold day on tap and then we’ll start to warm up a little each day. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Northeast wind 7 to 10 mph.

Friday Night-Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. East wind 6 to 10 mph becoming south southeast after midnight.

Yesterday, I shared a post about firefighters. This morning, what I am going to share pertains to all folks in EMERGENCY SERVICES who dedicate their lives to helping people no matter what the dangers are. Why do we do this?

The main reason we do this is because we’re called from within. Who has called us to duty? I believe its GOD. It takes special people to put their lives on the line to run into danger when everyone is running away. What we see isn’t always pretty and is mostly gruesome in some  cases but overall we do get through it. It affects us in different ways. If one is affected negatively, we all band together to help that one get through the issue. We council each other. We see things, we do things, and sometimes these things can cause us stress beyond what we think we can take. Again, we help each other.

We do what we do because we care about people. We are there when you need us the most. We will help you in those times of need.

If you see Law, Fire, Emergency Management, Wrecker Service people, Doctor’s, Nurse’s, and Ambulance Personnel, THANK THEM for what they do. They all are there to help you get through your worst times. Even though we have fears to, we overcome that to get you through yours.

As long as we breathe, we’ll be there for you.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Mike
