0500L- FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 6/6/25
NOAA WX RADIO WILL CONTINUE TO BE DOWN FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES UNTIL SOMETIME TODAY AT THE NORMAN WFO.
FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 1PM TODAY. SEVERE T-STORM WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 0800L. FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 0630L.
SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER “LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT” AGAIN! ALL HAZARDS WILL BE POSSIBLE. See graphics attached and read carefully.
The biggest issue will be flooding. Some areas of the county have had over 4 inches of rain in the last 8 hours and some have received near 10 inches or more this week. We do have some flooding in Enid as the underpass on North Grand is at 4 feet as of this typing and some other areas that normally flood are underwater. If you have to get out, use caution while driving. Rain totals will increase as we get into the weekend so make sure you empty your gauges so you can send me accurate totals. I would highly advise you to stay off of county roads. You WILL get stuck if you drive down the wrong ones.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Today- Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Near steady temperature in the upper 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Tonight- A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Locally heavy rainfall possible after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
