0320L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 6/7/25
FLOOD WATCH UNTIL 1300L TODAY
TORNADO WATCH UNTIL 0600L THIS MORNING
ENHANCED RISK for severe weather until 0900L this morning, then a MARGINAL RISK for severe weather later today and tonight. We have teams in Pond Creek and Lamont doing damage assessment to determine if its tornado damage or straight line winds of 70-90 mph or higher. We’ll know more after a while. Highest winds this morning “here” were 43 mph.
Our threats today, if storms occur, will be golf ball size hail, winds to 70 mph and a low tornado threat. We’ll see what happens. We didn’t receive the torrential rainfall we thought may happen but we still have roads that are washed out so don’t drive around any barricades. That will get you in trouble in several different ways. Please avoid those. 😊
Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Today- Showers and thunderstorms likely after midnight, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning. Sunny this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall this morning. Highs in the mid-80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming west. Chance of rain 70 percent.
Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the mid-60s. West winds around 5 mph, becoming southwest after midnight.
