0325L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 03/01/24

FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY PM.

*There is a possibility of some fog around this morning and visibility may be hindered. If this occurs, slow down and arrive at your destination safely. We will become mostly clear by this afternoon. Winds will be southerly 5- 10 mph today with possibly higher gusts. Saturday, winds will increase dramatically and the fire danger will return over the weekend. We’ll see what happens on that one.

*For today, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Patchy fog this morning. Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 60s. South winds at 10 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

*AS STATED YESTERDAY: This weekend, especially Sunday, is shaping up to be “similar” to last Tuesday for fire weather conditions. We could be in the Critical area this time but will wait and see how future forecasts verify. Do not conduct controlled burns if wind gusts are forecast upwards of 15 mph. Even a controlled burn can get out of control pretty quick.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
