0322L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 02/29/24

*There is a very slight chance for rain here this afternoon. IF it occurs, It won’t amount to much per guidance. Personally, I’d like to see enough to knock the dirt out of the air. We will be a little warmer today than yesterday as a trough pushes through the area. Winds will come back today with some gusts upwards of 30 mph.

*This weekend is shaping up to be similar to Tuesday for fire weather conditions. We could be in the Extreme area this time but will wait and see how future forecasts verify. We ask that Any controlled burning wait until we get through the next several days. Do not burn if wind gusts are forecast upwards of 15 mph. Even a controlled burn can get out of control pretty quick.

*Overall, we’ll be ok for now so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain showers this afternoon. Highs in the lower 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Cold with lows in the lower 30s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
