0310L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 3/28/25

*Today will be mostly sunny with gusty southerly winds. With highs in the 70’s, it should be a nice day. No rain expected. On Saturday evening, we are expecting a slight chance for severe weather as a dryline pushes through the area. Depending on where storms form, IF they form, will be where all hazards are possible from this severe weather scenario. We are in the slight risk area for Saturday but there are a few variables on the timing and where storms may form. We’ll wait and see how this mess comes together.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday- Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming mostly sunny. Breezy with highs in the mid-70s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Friday Night- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. Breezy with lows in the mid-50s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

We will continue to be under ELEVATED fire weather conditions for the foreseeable future. We are in a La Nina pattern and the forecast is looking at an ENSO (NEUTRAL pattern) for the summer then possibly back to the La Nina pattern this fall. This means less storms but possibly potent, when we do have them and then warm and drier conditions. We’ll see what happens.
