0335L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 3/29/25

*We are in a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather this evening as a dryline and front push through the area. Depending where storms form and how they form, meaning whether they are discreet or in a line, will depend on the main threats. Lets just say “all hazards” will be possible late tonight. Don’t freak out because the cap is very strong and we don’t know where the dryline and fronts triple point will be located exactly. We do know that it will be close to the area. Just be prepared for heavy rainfall, strong winds, large hail, and possibly tornadoes. WE WILL WATCH THIS MESS VERY CAREFULLY AS EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER. I will update early this afternoon and put info on our app.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny and breezy. Highs in the mid-80s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight- Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Lows in the mid-40s. South winds 15 to 20 mph, becoming north 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 70 percent.

*GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our Preparedness and Warning app. If you don’t have it, you will need it when severe weather, of any kind, comes our way.  Daily posts are placed on the app under the GCEM Blog icon. Download it today!

 HAVE A GOOD DAY!
