0325L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-3/6/2020

1- The NWEM Workshop went well and our exercise destroying an Enid landmark went well too. Were all questions answered? No, but we’re working on it. We found the means to get questions answered and that’s what is important in these exercises. Those protocols will be modified in time. Overall, it went well and input from folks was very good. I want to thank everyone that was involved for participating. We’ll do this again soon.

2- We are adding new storm sirens around town and these are voice capable meaning we can talk over them. If you are at a ballpark and storms are moving our way, you might hear me give an audible advisory. Weekly testing will begin on the 16th of March.

3- Weatherwise we’ll have plenty of sunshine and we will warm up. With low dewpoint and humidity the FIRE DANGER will increase some for the area. Keep an eye out and call 911 if you see smoke and fire.

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday- Sunny with a high near 61. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon.

Friday Night-Mostly clear with a low around 37. South southeast wind around 10 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!

MIKE
