0340L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-3/7/2020

RED FLAG FIRE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11AM UNTIL 7PM FOR NORTHERN AND WESTERN OKLAHOMA.  NO CONTROLLED BURNING TODAY IN GARFIELD COUNTY. Low humidity and dew point temps along with strong winds and warmer actual temperatures are the factors.

1- Since the NWS has issued the RED FLAG WARNING for today, keep in mind that we are NOT in a BURN BAN but if anyone starts a fire when this goes into effect and it gets out of control, you could be liable for the damage to neighboring property and you might be required to pay for that response. ALSO, keep a close eye out for any suspicious activity since we do have a fire starter/arsonist out there.

2- Weatherwise, warm and windy with clearing skies this afternoon. Get out and soak in some sunshine. Hopefully we don’t have to soak in smoke.

3- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Saturday-Partly sunny with a high near 66. Windy with a south wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Saturday Night-Mostly clear with a low around 46. South wind 18 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
