0330L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/07/22

1- The front has pushed through the area and the cooler air will filter in as the day and tonight progress. Not looking at rain chances early today BUT, a 20% chance shows up later this afternoon and possibly a 40% chance on Saturday. We can only hope at this point. The sure thing right now is below normal temps will occur and that will be a nice change.

2- Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny. Cooler with highs around 70. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain after midnight. Lows in the mid-40s. Northeast winds around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

3-FINALLY, as stated in a post earlier on social media, we suspect arson on the fire north of Lahoma. It has burned 105 bales of hay valued at approximately 27,000 dollars more or less. If you see any suspicious activity out there, call 911 or the Sheriff’s office. Get a description of the vehicle but do not approach these folks if you see them. A tag number would be good but don’t put yourselves in danger. This hay bale fire was the second fire in about 2 hours that they responded too. Hillsdale-Carrier Fire was called out to assist Lahoma on the second fire.

STAY SAFE AND HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
