0325L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-9/16/22

1- There is an outside chance for a shower this morning from convection in Kansas. It is putting out some outflow boundaries but so far, nothing is firing along those lines. We’ll keep an eye out and advise if needed. Overall weather-wise, we’ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning. Highs in the mid-90s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 60s. South winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

2- The Fire Danger is creeping up so stay aware and keep an eye out for smoke and fire. Just returned from a fire in southern Grant County that is rumored to possibly be arson. Hillsdale-Carrier, Kremlin, and Nash Fire departments responded to that grass fire at 0:45am that burned roughly 30 acres. Several of our rural fire departments were out on fires that were possibly arson in southern Garfield County again last evening. Douglas, Pioneer, and Waukomis responded to those.

WARNING AND ADVISORY: We have an arsonist running around again. If you see suspicious activity call 911 immediately and they will get Law Enforcement and Fire personnel in route. If you can get a description of a vehicle or even a tag number, that would be super! DO NOT TRY TO APPREHEND THESE FOLKS.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
