0415L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-6/28/22

1-Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight-Clear. Lows in the lower 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

2-Concerning fireworks. It’s illegal to fire them off of a county road. Here is the STATE LAW;

FIREWORKS- TITLE 68, Article 16-Fireworks, Section 1627- It shall be unlawful to explode or ignite fireworks within five hundred feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested, flammable agricultural crop, public school or where fireworks are stored, sold, or offered for sale. No person shall ignite or discharge any permissible articles of fireworks within or throw the same from a motor vehicle; nor shall any person place or throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at such vehicle or at or near any group of people.

3- We aren’t against anyone wanting to celebrate but several folks out there always mess it up for others. Get permission from a landowner and go from there. If we are suspicious, we’ll check with them too. Have a good time.

4- We will be gradually warming up coming into the 4th and the heat index for the 4th may be near 105. STAY HYDRATED.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
