0305L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 04/08/24
*Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’ll receive info from us and the NWS in detail.
*Let me start with the Solar Eclipse. First of all this won’t be an apocalyptic event. It will start in our area at approximately 12:28pm and last until roughly 3:04pm. A partial solar eclipse will happen. Shadows are sharper, the light IS dimmer but the sky is still bright. Wear eclipse glasses.
*Weather-wise, our forecast for today calls for partly sunny skies so viewing the eclipse looks ok for now. We do have a front that is moving through the area as I type so hopefully skies will remain mostly clear. There is a chance for rain later tonight, most likely after midnight and on Tuesday afternoon. We’ll see how that pans out. Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny this morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. North winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
Tonight- Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the upper 40s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
