MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 12/2/24

*Cooler today as a reinforcing cold front pushes through the area this morning.  Another front is expected on Wednesday but should remain dry. We remain in an abnormally dry portion of the drought. The graph shows half of the county clear of any drought as we’re still drying out from all that rain we received.

We have had a record number of tornadoes this year in the NWS Norman County Warning Area. Here are a few record numbers in order of year-numbers: 1955-77, 1995-77, 2015-83, 2019-85, 1999-94, 2024, so far-104. I want to thank the NWS for these numbers. Just remember that storm season starts January 1st and ends December 31.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Patchy fog this morning. Sunny. Highs in the mid-40s. North winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight- Clear, cold with lows in the lower 20s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming east after midnight.
