0420L-MONDAY UPDATE FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-1/29/18

The fire in the 9600 block of West Centennial flared up again last night. Rural departments from Hillsdale-Carrier, Kremlin, Hunter, Lahoma, Drummond, Pond Creek, Nash, and there may have been a few more and if I missed one or two, my apologies. We were out from midnight Sunday morning, most of the day for many Sunday afternoon and then again later Sunday evening from 2220L until we released them around  0100L early Monday morning. We are still investigating the cause but please be careful out there. Grass is extremely dry and it doesn’t take much to get it going. The winds didn’t help either.

Today’s Fire danger is low BUT that doesn’t mean get stupid!! BE CAREFUL. Tuesday will be a CRITICAL fire danger day. See graph attached.

HERE IS TODAY’S FORECAST FROM THE NWS/NORMAN;

TODAY-Sunny, with a high near 42. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.

TONIGHT-Mostly clear, with a low around 24. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast after midnight.

If a few attitudes seem “short” today, it’s just a lack of rest. We’ll survive!

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

MIKE
