0350L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/24/22

TIP: If it rains, slow down on the roads as rain will cause the dirt and road oils to mix and the roads will become slippery. Don’t need any accidents this morning.

1- Our best chance for rain in months should be today. The forecast says we have a 100% chance and there are showers on radar at 0305L. Another chance may be later today depending on the track of the storm system. Hopefully we do see rain if nothing else, to knock this dirt out of the air.

2- Overall, we’ll be ok so we’ll wait and see on the rain chances. Cooler temps are also in the forecast for the up and coming week so again, we’ll see what happens. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Showers with a chance of thunderstorms this morning, then a chance of showers this afternoon. Cooler with highs in the upper 60s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming north this afternoon. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Tonight-Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers. Cooler with lows in the mid-40s. Northwest winds around 10 mph.

FINALLY, All task force folks are back home but the fire danger continues so use extreme caution if utilizing anything related to fire. Call 911 if you see any smoke or fire.
