0325L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 4/19/25

We are in GENERAL RISK area for thunderstorms later today into the overnite hours. The higher severe threat will be focused in the southern half of the state. We are still under a FLOOD WATCH until 7pm SUNDAY EVENING.

We didn’t receive much rain last night but we all got to see a pretty cool light show with all the lightning. Hopefully no one’s house got struck. Our chance tonight for additional rainfall looks so-so for us but everything will depend on the storm track and exactly where the low level jet sets up. That said, I have 4 graphics attached here so read each graphic carefully and they will give you some additional information.

Overall, we’ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Showers likely. A slight chance of thunderstorms this morning, then a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall this morning. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall this afternoon. Highs in the mid-50s. Northeast winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Tonight- A chance of thunderstorms. Showers. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Lows in the upper 40s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
