0325L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 4/26/25

We are in the General Thunderstorm Risk area for today. The higher severe risk is south and southwest of us but with the front moving back north and all the atmospheric mess that’s out there, instability, shear, etc., we could possibly see some heavier weather. We’ll just have to wait and see. Either way, keep an umbrella handy just in case.

HYPE=PANIC. PANIC=BAD DECISION MAKING. BAD DECISION MAKING=HEARTACHE.

Overall, we’ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms. A chance of showers this morning, then showers this afternoon. Highs in the mid-60s. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 50s. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. NWS warnings and advisories come through in detail automatically and you’ll get important info from us too.

If you plan on traveling south or southwest, check the forecast in that area since severe weather is expected.

STAY WEATHER AWARE AND WE’LL ADVISE AS NEEDED.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
