0425L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-2/8/2020

1- Weatherwise for Saturday, a nice day with highs in the 50’s with increasing winds. A chance for rain is in the forecast starting on Sunday and for a good part of the week. We’ll see what happens for sure.

2- That said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Saturday-Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Light and variable wind becoming south 12 to 17 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.

Saturday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. South wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

3- As stated last night in a short post, SOUTHGATE is closed at the railroad tracks just east of Van Buren. This crossing has been rough for quite some time and accidents have occurred because of this. Union Pacific railroad will be getting this repaired hopefully soon per our District 1 County Commissioner.

4-On another railroad note, the crossing on Hwy 45 just west of IMO Road was repaired by BNSF RAILROAD and is worse now than it was before repairs were made. The speed limit in that area is 65 BUT YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN to around 40 or less because that crossing is extremely rough. If you drive over that area at the speed limit, you may end up in a field or the ditch. SLOW DOWN so that doesn’t happen. There is a sign that says BUMP which is an understatement. Just be careful.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
