0330L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/01/22

1- Warm, mild, and light winds are in store for today. Other than an elevated Fire Danger, everything else looks good. There is a slight chance that we could see gusty winds later this afternoon but nothing out of the ordinary so to speak. Warm days and cool nights are in store for the next week or so. That said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 40s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

2-Since we have gone from severe drought conditions into the extreme drought conditions level, use caution if doing anything related to fire. Continue to water the yard if possible and watch out for cracks in the ground. Some of these could actually trip you causing a fall if you’re not paying attention. Just be careful.

3- As stated yesterday, winter is coming and now is a good time to make sure you’re prepared. Here is a link to the NWS WINTER WEATHER PAGE- https://www.weather.gov/safety/winter  and it has some really good info. Check it out and get ready, colder weather will come sooner than you think. OVERALL, we’ll be ok so HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
