0330L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 4/30/23

* A cool front has pushed in overnight and will cause today’s temps to average in the 60’s along with winds 10-15 gusting to around 25 mph. It will still be a very nice day so get out and enjoy the sunshine.

*There are chances for rainfall this week but for us that chance, right now, looks to be on Thursday. Earlier chances appear to remain in southern Oklahoma and North Texas. As always, stay weather aware if you plan on traveling south this week.

*For now, we’ll be ok so enjoy the warmer temps and cool nights. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. North winds 10 to 15 mph gusting up to 25 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph, diminishing to around 5 mph after midnight.

*Something I usually don’t discuss because I don’t know all the facts in SPACE WEATHER. There has been quite a bit of solar activity from the sun in past weeks. What this will do is cause interference on Satellites, TV, radio, and other electronic systems. Most of you would notice digital pixels watching TV. It’s not always the signal carrier as these solar flares can also cause damage if they are strong enough. I do receive alerts from those folks but am still learning the effects of Geomagnetic interference. Here’s a link for you to check out and now you’ll be as confused as I am on “some” of this information. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/  We are always learning.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
