0330L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 8/11/24

*MARGINAL RISK for severe weather this morning.

*Showers and thunderstorms are expected this morning in or very near our area. If severe storms occur, torrential rainfall, quarter size hail, and wind gusts to 60 mph are possible. As it appears right now, the above mentioned parameters will apply to the stronger storms that are severe in Woodward County. Otherwise, torrential rainfall and gusty winds will be the main impacts. We’ll see how that mess tracks as the morning progresses.

*We have enjoyed a lot cooler weather for the last few days and that looks to end starting tomorrow with highs back into the 90’s. Fall is just around the corner so we’ll deal with it and move on. Other than the possibility for rain this morning, it appears we’ll be ok. That said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning, then mostly sunny this afternoon. Warmer with highs around 90. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Have a great day!
