0315L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/23/23

* The heat will turn back on starting today with the HEAT INDEX near 100 then all of this coming week, we’ll be in the low 100’s on heat index temps. Rain chances will be low to non-existent so be prepared for the higher temps. We actually have enjoyed a cooler summer so far so just remember that the heat is normal for summer and it’s on its way.

*If you do work outside, just remember to pace yourselves and stay hydrated and if you get to feeling strange, take a break. If you feel really bad, call 911. Heat issues can be deadly if you’re not careful.

* The Fire Danger is low right now but will be creeping up as we move forward into the mid to late summer months and as we traverse into fall and winter, it will get worse. Use extreme caution while utilizing anything related to fire and call 911 if you make a mistake.
