0300L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/24/23

* Rain/storms aren’t in the forecast this week so we can rest at night. The heater has been turned up for those that love the heat. For those that hate the heat, it will be a few months until fall arrives. Speaking of heat; a HEAT ADVISORY is in effect from noon TUESDAY through Tuesday evening until 8pm. We will be in or very near the 100s for high temps starting today thru the week so be prepared and make sure you hydrate accordingly. Also, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a HEAT ADVISORY here today. We’ll see what happens.

* I can’t believe I have to even say this but a few folks wanted me to remind everyone to make sure you don’t leave your kids or pets in a vehicle not running with the air conditioner on. I always felt that this was common sense but here it is…

*As stated yesterday, the FIRE DANGER is slowly creeping upwards. If you decide to do any controlled burning, know the laws and regulations before setting a fire. Here is a link: https://www.ok-pba.org/laws-and-regulations We don’t want anyone to get into trouble and or anyone to lose their livelihood because someone didn’t know the law. PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO ANYONE THAT NEEDS TO READ IT.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so dress for the heat and take your time out there. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, hot with highs around 100. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the mid-70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!
