0345L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-6/14/2020

1-Hot and dry conditions will persist as this high pressure area remains intact. This promotes fire weather conditions for us with low relative humidity around 20%, low dew point temps in the upper 40s to low 50s, and winds 15-20mph gusting to around 30 mph. If you see smoke and or fire, call 911 immediately. Areas in our county are in a moderate and severe drought.

2- The dry conditions make for a boring weather forecast but there is a slight chance that we could see rain again later this week. It’s not set in stone yet so we’ll see what happens. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny with highs in the upper 90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

Tonight- Lows in the mid-60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

DIRECTORS COMMENT

1-Saw several folks, male and female, texting while driving with kids in the car; DON’T!!

2-While driving, stay aware of the whole environment around you and LOOK “BEFORE” you change lanes. This is how accidents occur.

3- Teach your kids to LOOK BOTH WAYS before entering an intersection while walking OR riding their bikes. It just might save you a lot of anguish.

Keep these in mind; AWARENESS=HAPPINESS. UNAWARENESS=TRAGEDY

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
