0335L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 5/01/22

1- SLIGHT RISK for severe weather later this evening and overnight.

Definition of SEVERE: WINDS-in excess of 58 mph and HAIL- 1 inch in diameter. See graphics for timing as of right now.

When you read, ALL HAZARDS ARE POSSIBLE, this means damaging winds, large hail, intense lightning, and tornados.

2- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming southeast with gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon.

Tonight-Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening and overnight. Lows in the upper 50s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent.

3- We have that chance for severe weather late tonight, Monday evening, Wednesday, and Thursday. We have several shortwave troughs that will move through the region this week giving us that chance for storms. At this point, we need the rain but this is that time for severe storms.
